Despite many years of declining rates of youth suicide, the past ten years have shown an increase in suicide and suicide attempts among teens. The presentation will cover the latest information about suicide, risk factors, and protective factors for this group. The discussion will explore some possible reasons for the increased rates of suicide among youth. Also, to be discussed will be strategies to address youth suicide at both the individual and community level.
